Refugee Resettlement in Wyoming

I oppose any refugee resettlement in Wyoming.

WyCapitolPresident Obama plans on allowing a minimum of 50,000 Syrian refugees to enter the United States by the end of his term. The Director of the FBI James Comey told Congress in October 2015 it is impossible to know who these people are. Below is a piece of James Comey’s testimony before the Congress:  Mr. Comey is a member of the Administration and even he is saying that there is no way to know who these people are.

Wyoming is the one state that does not have a formal refugee resettlement program with the federal government. I am opposed to efforts to establish a refugee resettlement program here in Wyoming.

Even though HB0047 Sponsored by Representative Tom Reeder addressed this very issue and passed the House with overwhelming support but it disappeared and was not brought up before the Senate for a vote. That is a typical way the establishment disposes of conservative bills. They pass it in one house and then put it in the garbage bin when it moves to the other house.

I am adamantly opposed to efforts to establish a refugee resettlement program here in Wyoming. With President Obama committing to the UN to resettle an ever-swelling quota of refugees, and with the refugee resettlement advocates already active in our state, I believe that the legislature should block ANY Governor from establishing a refugee resettlement program.
